Trussville Celebrates 5th Annual Witches Ride to Support Local Family in Need

Trussville Residents Come Together for the 5th Annual Witches Ride

Trussville, Ala. — On a breezy fall afternoon, Trussville residents donned their most creative costumes and hopped on their bikes for the 5th annual Witches Ride, a beloved local event that brings together the community for a charitable cause. This year’s gathering was lively, with colorful decorations and a sense of camaraderie permeating the air as hundreds of participants rode through town, all while raising important funds.

A Ride with Purpose

John Amari, a local resident and the emcee for the event, shared his insights on the origins of the ride. “Some ladies in Trussville got together and formed this group, and they ride, raising money for some type of charitable cause,” Amari explained. This yearly tradition not only showcases creativity but also highlights the spirit of giving in the community.

This year, a spotlight was placed on the Moore family, particularly on 7-year-old Margaux Moore, who is bravely battling Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The condition has significantly impacted Margaux’s mobility, affecting her ability to walk. The funds raised during the Witches Ride are aimed at helping the Moore family purchase a wheelchair accessible van, something that will greatly improve their quality of life and mobility as Margaux continues to grow.

Community Support and Mobilization

Maggie Moore, Margaux’s mother, expressed profound gratitude for the community’s support. “It’s amazing to see the community riled up, with us, supporting us, showing us so much love. It’s incredible,” she remarked. The overwhelming turnout at the event not only emphasized the tight-knit nature of the Trussville community but also showcased how committed residents are to supporting one another in times of need.

With the money raised during the ride, the Moore family hopes to secure the accessible vehicle that would provide much-needed freedom and flexibility in their daily lives. “It changes a lot to have accessibility you know, to have a vehicle. It will be so much easier. She’s only getting bigger,” Moore added, highlighting the importance of mobility as Margaux continues her journey.

Fun and Festivities

Aside from the main goal of raising funds, the Witches Ride is a festive occasion filled with fun. Participants arrived dressed in all sorts of vibrant and imaginative costumes, adding a sense of joy and excitement to the proceedings. Families, friends, and individuals of all ages participated, making the event a celebration of both creativity and charity.

As the cyclists made their way through Trussville, cheers and encouragement filled the streets, with bystanders joining in to support the cause. It was a reminder of how community-driven events can unite people for a common goal, offering a chance for everyone to contribute, no matter how large or small.

Looking Ahead

The Witches Ride is expected to remain an annual event, continuing its mission to support local families in need. For those interested in getting involved, more information about future rides can usually be found through community bulletins and local announcements. This event serves not only as a platform for fundraising but also as a reminder of the strength, creativity, and support that exists within the Trussville community.

As participants rode away, the sense of purpose was clear: together, this vibrant community can make a significant difference in the lives of its members, ensuring that no one has to face challenges alone.
