As October rolls in, the air fills with excitement for the spookiest time of the year, and the Greater Birmingham Area is gearing up for an enchanting series of events. This year, five Witches Rides are set to bring fun, laughter, and a dash of witchy charm to the community.
First up is the much-anticipated Trussville Witches Ride, scheduled for Saturday, October 26. Riders are encouraged to embrace their inner witch with some groovy 70s attire. The event promises to be an enjoyable time, culminating in an after-party that will keep the festive spirit alive.
One of the notable highlights of this event is that all proceeds will be donated to Children’s of Alabama. Participants will not only enjoy an exciting ride through Cahaba Heights but can also look forward to a costume contest to showcase their best witchy outfits. With a fun theme and a charitable cause, this ride is shaping up to be a remarkable kick-off to the spooky season.
Next on the list is the beloved Homewood Witches Ride, which is back for its 12th year. This cherished event will take place in the heart of Homewood with over 500 riders expected to participate and a host of spectators lining the streets.
The origins of this ride are deeply rooted in community spirit; it was inspired by Paula Stringfellow Ford, a cancer survivor, as a celebration of resilience and beauty. This year, funds raised will benefit the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB, aligning the event with a significant cause. Riders will travel a route from Shades Cliff Park to Bluff Park Village Shopping Center, where the gathering continues with an after-party at The Electric. This year promises plenty of candy, smiles, and memorable moments.
As the month draws to a close, the Star Lake Witches Ride will bring the festivities to an end. This ride not only promises a fantastic gathering for witch enthusiasts but also supports the Green Valley Church Food Bank. It’s a wonderful way to engage with the community while making a difference by contributing to a local cause.
With all of the rides, participants are encouraged to don their best witch costumes, bring along some candy, and join in the joyous spirit of the season. Each of these events not only provides a chance for fun and celebration but also unites the community in generous support of local charities.
Which of these exciting Witches Rides are you planning to attend? With the mix of charitable causes and thrilling fun, there’s something for everyone.
