BIRMINGHAM, ALA – Back-to-School Financial Relief is on the Horizon

Round Room, a Verizon authorized retailer, has pledged to donate $3 million worth of high-quality backpacks as part of their 12th Annual “School Rocks Backpack Giveaway.” The event is slated to take place at three distinct stores all situated within the Birmingham, Alabama region this Sunday.

The National Retail Federation reports that the average American family spends approximately $890 on back-to-school products each year, with backpacks being one of the more steeply priced items on school lists. Round Room’s intervention is geared toward helping parents and caregivers alleviate some of this seasonal financial burden.

Bringing the Community Together

The giveaway event is not only about providing free backpacks. It is also an opportunity for family-friendly activities and community connection. Hundreds of families are anticipated to line up for the event, creating an environment of excitement and camaraderie.

As an added courtesy, select stores will have clear backpacks available to comply with specific school district requirements. This act shows Round Room’s commitment to meet various needs within the community they serve.

Rallying to Meet an Important Need

The 12th Annual “Schools Rock Backpack Giveaway” will take place on Sunday, July 28 at the following Verizon locations:

  • 5907 Trussville Crossing Pkwy Ste 113
  • 10462 Highway 5
  • 1836 Ashville Rd (where clear backpacks will be available)

Since 2013, this charitable initiative has managed to provide over 1.3 million children with durable backpacks. As families prepare to send their children back to school this upcoming year, the backpack giveaway stands to provide significant support and relief. Round Room hopes this event will help set local students up for success.
