New Creative Toy Store and Play Concept Taking Shape in Homewood

New Creative Toy Store and Play Concept Taking Shape in Homewood

A fresh entrant to the toy retail scene, Goodies Toy Store, is setting up in Homewood. This innovative outlet combines the joys of play and retail in a new way for children and their families. Promising a fresh outlook for children’s entertainment, this exciting venture is set to enthrall the vibrant Homewood community with its unique concept of shopping combined with on-site play.

Personalized ‘Goodie Boxes’

Goodies Toy Store, with a concept akin to a candy store, presents children with a fun-filled shopping experience. On entering the store, children are handed a pail or a shopping cart which they fill with their most cherished tiny treasures from over 75 plastic tubes. Be it matchbox cars, bouncy balls, art supplies, or fashion jewelry, the children can fill their carts to their heart’s content. They are then given a bag or a box personalized with their name, encouraging ownership and responsibility. Allowing kids to pick, choose, and then own toys of their liking is the unique charm of this store.

Creative Fun and Relaxation

Adding a whimsical spin to the traditional toy-buying experience, Goodies Toy Store encourages the creative impulse in children. It sports a large craft table where the kids can begin decorating their goodie boxes as soon as they have completed their shopping experience. This way, they are not only taking toys home but also a piece of the store that they created themselves. Parents can find relaxation and enjoyment in the comfortable seating area that serves coffee and snacks.

Hosting Parties and More

Bringing birthday parties and other celebrations to life, Goodies Toy Store adds an extra layer of fun. Children can not only enjoy playing party games but also engage in building and decorating boxes during the event. Custom party favors and goodie-bags can also be arranged, reducing the hassle for parents and amping up the excitement factor for kids.

A Community Toy Story

Creators of the innovative store concept, Ginny and Joe Leavens, are themselves parents of five. They felt the necessity of a place where kids can let loose and have fun while keeping engaged with something creative. Living in Homewood, they felt such a place was missing in their community. Thus, Goodies was born to provide children with a fun, enriching experience that would not only entertain during the visit but continue to engage them at home.

A Shared Venture

In an interesting cooperative twist, Goodies Toy Store will be sharing premises with the newly announced Tina’s Market at 3027 Central Ave Homewood, forming a mutualistic bond. With a unique concept backed by a strong community push, Goodies Toy Store is set to launch this Spring, ready to offer countless smiles, endless fun, and plenty of goodies.
