Fiesta BHAM Scholarship Applications Open
Birmingham
Recognizing the importance of higher education and aiming to provide financial assistance to deserving applicants, Birmingham’s largest celebration of Hispanic culture, Fiesta BHAM, has officially opened its scholarship application process.
Scholarship Program Overview
The scholarship program was implemented with the goal of promoting learning and supporting the educational endeavors of Hispanic students. Acknowledging the economic challenges that often hinder students’ educational journey, Fiesta BHAM has endeavored to lighten this burden by providing education-specific grants. This year, the festival is ecstatic to offer five $5,000 scholarships at its primary event scheduled for Saturday, September 28.
The process of accepting applications commenced online from July 15 and will continue until August 31. Interested students can now apply online for a Fiesta scholarship. To highlight the esteem for academic diversity, Fiesta will award one specialized $5,000 scholarship to a Latina student who is pursuing a degree in culinary, hospitality, or restaurant management fields.
Official Statements from the Fiesta BHAM Board
A statement from the Fiesta Advisory Board Scholarship Chair, Teresa Zuniga Odom, read, “Fiesta was created to provide educational scholarships to deserving Hispanic students in our state and in our 22nd year as a festival, we are delighted to be providing $25,000 in Fiesta Scholarships.”
Fiesta BHAM: A Commitment to Education
The Fiesta BHAM scholarship is not just a financial grant; it is a testament to the festival’s commitment towards fostering an educated society. By providing these scholarships, Fiesta BHAM hopes to capitalize on the potential of Hispanic students and encourage them to pursue their academic ambitions without the fear of financial impediments. The scholarship aims to bring to light the talented students in the community and inspire them to reach new academic heights.
