Personal Injury Law Firm Gives Back to Birmingham Community

Personal Injury Law Firm Gives Back to Birmingham Community

In a benevolent move that combines social responsibility and community empathy, a Birmingham-based personal injury law firm announced on Wednesday that it will be handing out $100 grocery store gift cards from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. This remarkable gesture of goodwill targets to alleviate the hardships of families struggling with food insecurity.

Location and Details of the Philanthropic Act

Acting under the banner 1-800-TRUCK-WRECK, the law firm will be distributing gift cards at the Winn Dixie supermarket, located at 4476 Montevallo Rd. The total value of the gift card giveaway amounts to a whopping $10,000, signifying how the firm is willing to go the extra mile to support its community.

The Rationale Behind the Noble Gesture

Amy Witherite, owner of 1-800-TruckWreck, revealed that their outreach is prompted by an understanding that food poverty knows no season and that people need nourishment throughout the year. “We hope that holding this grocery giveaway leading into the summer months can help alleviate some of the burden of finding affordable food while children are home during summer break,” Witherite said in a statement.

It’s worth noting that almost 70% of Birmingham residents live in neighborhoods deemed food insecure. Further, there is a credible risk to a federal summer EBT program for Alabama’s youth. Clearly, the firm’s initiative is addressing a significant societal issue head-on.

A Community Celebration

Amidst the giveaways, Dilleon of WBHJ 97.5 Jamz will be accompanying 1-800-TRUCK-WRECK for a live broadcast at the Winn Dixie supermarket. This is designed to create a sense of community and social involvement, in line with the character of the event.

Echoing the Spirit of Serving the Community

1-800-TruckWreck is no stranger to serving the community. With its jurisprudence work principally revolving around personal injury cases, the firm has always been at the forefront of fighting for those who suffer due to someone else’s negligence. Now, with this noble initiative, the firm is enriching local lives, by enabling families to buy food.

By taking on Birmingham’s food poverty, this commendable move is a shining example of how organizations can make a real difference at ground level by empathetically addressing the essential needs of the community they serve.
