New Autism Therapy Clinic Connect ABA Opens in Homewood, Enhancing Community Support for Children with Autism

New Autism Therapy Clinic Opens in Homewood

Homewood, AL – The community welcomed a new autism therapy clinic to the area as Connect ABA officially opened its doors in a medical office building on Oak Grove Road. The clinic leased a spacious 5,300 square feet within the 9,999-square-foot facility, which is now fully occupied.

Expansion: A Sign of Commitment

Connect ABA provides applied behavioral analysis (ABA) to children aged 2 to 10, utilizing play-based learning techniques aimed at improving social, communication, and learning skills. This new location follows the successful opening of their first clinic in Gadsden earlier this year, signaling an ongoing commitment to expanding essential services for children with autism.

A Community-Driven Deal

The lease transaction was facilitated by Casey Howard, representing the landlord Lakeshore Building Partners LLC, while Tessa Commercial Real Estate acted on behalf of the tenant. This development not only introduces valuable therapy services to the Homewood area but also completes a full occupancy of the building, which was constructed in 2004 and sits on a 30,000-square-foot lot.

Who’s Behind the Building?

Lakeshore Building Partners is associated with Matthew Lemak, the CEO of MEREM Healthcare Solutions, who operates an office within the same building. Lemak has made headlines recently for his philanthropic efforts, including donating Pine Harbor Golf Course to The Arc of Central Alabama, which auctioned it for $1.3 million this past winter.

A Retail-Friendly Location

The Oak Grove Road clinic is strategically situated in a retail-heavy area that includes popular establishments such as two auto shops, a Lowe’s Home Improvement, a Walmart Supercenter, and eight hotels, all lying within a one-mile radius. Furthermore, organizations like John Carroll Catholic High School and Estelle Apartments are also nearby, potentially increasing access for families seeking therapy for their children.

Looking Ahead

Casey Howard has been actively involved in other notable real estate transactions this summer, including a venture at 801 Tom Martin Drive that secured its sole tenant and a lease for Capella Pizzeria in the Uptown Entertainment District. Howard’s efforts reflect a broader trend in the community to enhance business and service offerings.

Local Recognition

In exciting news for the community, the founder and CEO of Tessa Commercial Real Estate, Meredith Calhoun, has been recognized as one of Birmingham’s 60 most influential leaders for 2024 by a leading business journal, highlighting the impact of local leaders in shaping the healthcare and commercial landscape.

Conclusion

The opening of Connect ABA in Homewood represents more than just a new business; it emphasizes the growing focus on accessible healthcare services for children with autism in the community. As the demand for such vital services continues to rise, the presence of clinics like Connect ABA is a promising development for families in the area.
