The vibrant city of Vestavia Hills has a unique cause for celebration. Sharon Pitts, a local resident, scooped up the esteemed title of Ms. Senior Alabama 2024 in a grand ceremony held at the Daphne Civic Center. This remarkable milestone supplements the remarkable streak of the city’s women who also claimed Miss Alabama 2024 and Miss Alabama USA 2024 titles.
Retired from Regions Bank after a commendable 35 years of service in human resources, Pitts managed to stand out among 14 other candidates, all between the ages of 60-69.
While Pitts claimed the top spot, the runners-up were equally formidable. The first runner-up title was claimed by Ms. Senior Gulf Shores Cheryl Ritchie; followed by second runner-up Ms Senior Daphne Lori Cox; third runner-up Ms. Senior Fairhope Cindy Kozlowski; and fourth runner-up Ms. Senior St. Clair County Cindy Pounds.
Alongside this illustrious recognition, Pitts was also recently selected as one of the Top 50 over 50 in Alabama by Positive Maturity. She is slated to be recognized in a grand celebration at The Club in Birmingham on July 25th.
Ms. Senior Alabama is a reputable non-profit senior women’s organization that encourages women aged 60 and above to recognize their value in society. With a mission that resonates with the ethos of public service across the state, the organization strongly advocates that all women have a purpose and can make significant contributions regardless of their age.
