Melt Restaurant in Mountain Brook Announces Closure as New Dining Concept Plans Take Shape

Mountain Brook, AL – Melt Restaurant to Close, New Concept on Horizon

The beloved Melt restaurant at Lane Parke in Mountain Brook will serve its last meal on October 26, as announced recently on their Facebook page. Known for their gourmet grilled cheeses and cozy atmosphere, Melt has been a fixture in the community since its opening in 2014. The restaurant’s co-owners, Paget Pizitz and Harriet Reis, expressed gratitude towards their loyal customers in light of the upcoming closure.

A Decade of Service

Melt first originated as a food truck and quickly gained popularity for its unique take on classic comfort food. The co-owners reflected on the decade-long journey, stating, “We are beyond grateful to have been operating Melt for the past 10 years but have decided to move away from the day-to-day operations.” They plan to focus on expanding their franchise and utilizing their event space at The Sage in Pepper Place.

Thank You to the Community

As they prepare for their final month in operation, Melt’s owners emphasized the role of the community in their success. Their heartfelt announcement read, “Many of you have gone from customers to dear friends. We could not have done any of this without your unwavering support.” They also extended their heartfelt appreciation to the staff members who have been with them since the early days, many of whom are considered family. The announcement included warm thanks for their dedication, particularly during the challenging times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Future of Lane Parke

While the closing of Melt might leave a void in the community, there is already a plan in place for the restaurant space. The same announcement mentioned that a neighbor in Lane Parke will be taking over the location to launch a new restaurant concept in the spring. Details on the new venture remain under wraps for now, but excitement is already buzzing.

Looking Ahead

Melt’s closure marks the end of an era, but the spirit of their good food and community connections will continue on. The Sage, their event space, is a 5,000-square-foot area that can accommodate up to 112 seated guests and 350 standing, making it an excellent venue for gatherings and celebrations. This change in focus indicates Melt’s intention to remain active in the community through events and collaborations.

Join in the Farewell

As Melt prepares to dim its lights for the last time, they encourage patrons to visit and say goodbye. The owners expressed a desire to see familiar faces before their final service, hoping to share memories and add one last chapter to their story with the community. “We hope to see your smiling faces so we can thank you for being a part of our lives over the years,” the announcement concluded.

Melt’s legacy in Mountain Brook will surely be missed, but the prospect of a new and exciting dining option in Lane Parke offers a hopeful outlook for the area. As details of the new restaurant emerge in the coming months, the community can look forward to delicious possibilities ahead.
