Registration now open for Girls Rock Birmingham Camp

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Music, Empowerment, and Fun

Registration for the Girls Rock Birmingham Camp has officially begun. This highly anticipated week-long camp is organized with the goal of empowering young girls through music. It provides a safe and fun environment where girls can learn to play an instrument, form a band, and even write and perform an original song.

The camp is encouraging all girls from ages 9 to 16 to register and join the camp. Moreover, for the first time in its history, a new opportunity has been created for those aged 17 to 21 to get involved as well. The Camp is scheduled to commence on July 22 and will last until July 26 and will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. To ensure accessibility to all interested girls, the Camp is to take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham.

Returning to In-Person Sessions

Since their last in-person meetings in 2019, this year announces the exciting return of physical sessions in Birmingham after a significant hiatus imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The camp is proudly declared open to cis girls, as well as trans and non-binary kids, providing a safe space for all to engage, learn, and create unique and powerful music.

Camp Costs and Scholarship Information

The tuition for the camp is marked at $300, with an additional $50 covering aftercare for the entire week. Daily aftercare options are also available at a rate of $10 per day. However, recognizing the financial struggles some may face, scholarships have been made available for those who need them. The organizers encourage parents to reach out via email for more information and to request assistance.

With the clock ticking, Birmingham parents and kids are urged to register for the Girls Rock Birmingham Camp. A week of unforgettable experiences filled with music creation, band formation, instrumental lessons, and spirited performances awaits. Between July 22-26, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham will echo the sounds of rock music, empowered voices, and future rockstars stepping into the limelight.
