Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers Launches Month-Long Campaign in Support of Children’s Hospital of Alabama

April 3, 2024 – Birmingham, AL

Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers have launched a month-long altruistic initiative this April, pledging to support the state’s only stand-alone pediatric hospital, Children’s of Alabama. The campaign, christened as the “Changing Oil, Changing Lives” initiative, aims to donate $1 from every service conducted in its statewide outlets throughout the month.

A Long-term Commitment to Children’s Welfare

Since its conception in 2008, the “Changing Oil, Changing Lives” campaign has successfully generated more than $1 million in aid of Children’s Hospital. Chandler Bibb, Chief Development Officer at Children’s of Alabama, wholeheartedly appreciated Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers’ persistent devotedness, accenting the profound impact the campaign has wielded over the years.

In Bibb’s words, “Through our partnership, they have helped Children’s provide a constructive escape for our little patients that aids in alleviating stress and anxiety and promotes emotional well-being while they are in the hospital.”

Supporting Art Therapy for Holistic Well-being

The collaboration between Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers and Children’s of Alabama extends further than monetary contributions. They have been fervent supporters of the Children’s Art and Expressive Therapy Program, an essential initiative aimed at fostering emotional well-being among the young patients and providing them with a creative outlet. Working in conjunction with Child Life and Education Department at the hospital and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Arts in Medicine, this program is designed to create a nourishing environment where young patients can engage in poignant artistic activities.

Anticipation and Excitement for a Successful Campaign

The President of Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers, Jim Durkin, radiated enthusiasm for the annual campaign and stressed its significance in supporting the art therapy program for patients at Children’s of Alabama. He expressed heartfelt appreciation towards their patrons and staff for their unwavering support, emphasizing the combined efforts that contributed to significantly improving the care and treatment extended to the young patients at Children’s of Alabama.

As the new campaign sets in motion, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers eagerly anticipates another successful year of bolstering support for Children’s of Alabama, thereby reinforcing their commitment towards the welfare of these young lives and their families.
