Big news for theatre lovers in Birmingham! The beloved Encore Theatre & Gallery is making a fabulous leap from its former home in Roebuck to a brand-new spot at 1604 Second Avenue North in vibrant downtown Birmingham. This fresh location puts Encore right in the heart of the city’s thriving theatre district, nicely nestled near the historic Carver and Lyric Theaters.
Currently, renovations are buzzing along at the new venue. When the curtain rises at this revamped space, audiences will find two distinctive performance areas: a mainstage and a cozy cabaret, each tailored to hold up to 99 patrons. The excitement is palpable as the founder and artistic director is working diligently to ensure that everything is ready for a grand reopening before the end of the first quarter of this year.
The journey to this downtown relocation kicked off in late 2022 with a delightful event titled “A Chocolate Affair.” This charming cocktail party brought in a jolly crowd and featured a lively performance of “A Chocolate Covered Christmas Carol.” This event not only marked the start of Encore’s transition but also set the stage for many more engaging experiences.
