Hoover’s Dog Show Set to Bring Community Together

Family-Friendly Event at Avondale Brewery

HOOVER, AL – Dog lovers will unite in Hoover this Sunday, November 10, as the Animal League of Birmingham hosts its highly anticipated annual dog show at the Avondale Brewery. The event promises to be a heartwarming and engaging day for both participants and spectators, kicking off with registration at noon and the contest beginning at 2 PM.

Categories for Every Canine

With several exciting categories showcasing a variety of canine talents and traits, this event will crown not just an Overall Winner but also a People’s Choice for 2024. Categories include:

  • Cutest Couple/Family/Group
  • “Rascliest” Rescue
  • Dressed to Impress
  • Sassiest Senior (7 years and older)
  • Most Squeezable Puppy (4-12 months)
  • Best Fur Do
  • Most Captivating

The stage will come alive as each dog shows off its unique personality, with their owners sharing special qualities and favorite activities. Spectators can expect to see an array of styles, from fancy outfits to adorable puppy smiles.

Prizes and Performances

Participants will compete for wonderful prizes, including items donated by Hollywood Feed, along with ribbons, trophies, and a special Swag Bag for all furry contestants. In addition to the competitions, guests will enjoy a live performance by Three Dimensional Dog Training, showcasing some exciting canine skills.

Food and Fun for the Family

Food options are plentiful, with the Avondale Food Truck serving up delicious lunch items, as well as a sweet treat option to satisfy any sweet tooth. And for the four-legged participants, there will be a special doggy dessert, ensuring that “Man’s Best Friend” gets a tasty treat as well.

Local rescues will be on-site, along with several vendors offering unique items, making it a great chance for attendees to start their holiday shopping. With it being the season of giving, this is a perfect opportunity to support the community and give back to some of our local furry friends in need.

The Animal League of Birmingham is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for rescues, shelters, and animals in need throughout Birmingham and surrounding areas. By participating in the dog show, attendees are supporting a worthy cause while enjoying a fun-filled family day.
