Dinner En Blanc to Grace Birmingham in September

Dinner En Blanc to Grace Birmingham in September

The elegant French picnic tradition, Diner en Blanc, is set to arrive in Birmingham on the 21st of September for its fifth-anniversary edition. One of the most awaited social calendar events, which started in Paris three decades ago, is expected to draw hundreds of diners in their aesthetic white attire, reflecting a timeless fashion statement associated with the event.

Dressing Code and Other Requirements

The Diner en Blanc event maintains its iconic tradition with everything wrapped in white. Attendees are required to wear head-to-toe white clothing, which includes not just the outfits, but the accessories, hats, and shoes as well. The event exudes a sense of unity through this ‘all in white’ rule, contributing to the surreal spectacle.

Along with the white dresses, other requirements for the event include a table setting, which also has to be completely white. This helps to maintain the elegance of the event while displaying mesmerizing aesthetics to onlookers and participants. In keeping with the event’s unique charm, the exact location of the dinner remains a mystery until the last minute. Guests are assigned a particular departure location and are then escorted to the actual site by a Diner en Blanc volunteer.

Food and Beverage Arrangements

Attendees are expected to carry along their own picnic baskets filled with tasty meals, appropriate stemware, and white dinnerware. However, the event also provides the option of a catered picnic basket that can be reserved and picked up from the event site for those who do not wish to pack their own.

For the beverage part, it’s important to note that guests cannot bring their own alcohol, adhering to Birmingham’s guidelines. However, the attendees can still enjoy their favorite wine or champagne by reserving it online through the event’s e-store. Non-alcoholic drink lovers have the freedom to bring their own beverages.

Be Ready for the All-Encompassing Cleanup

To maintain cleanliness and respect the environment, guests must leave the event grounds taking all their trash, leftovers, and belonging with them.

Gourmet Dining and Entertainment

In true French spirit, the event promises an evening filled with delicious gourmet dining and live entertainment. The enchanting ambiance is further heightened with dance performances beneath the starlit skies, urging guests to join and make the event more memorable.

The Anticipated Return

With the announcement of the return of the Diner en Blanc for its fifth year, people of Birmingham are eager to experience the delightful evening of elegance, culture, and memories wrapped in white. A tradition renowned worldwide, the Diner en Blanc in Birmingham is expected to be one of the best social gatherings of the year with an enchanting blend of gastronomy and fashion.
