Coffee enthusiasts in Irondale, rejoice! The much-anticipated Santos Coffee drive-thru has launched its seventh Birmingham location last week on Montclair Road, right next to Milo’s.

2. Hillside Music & Que | Vestavia Hills
Earlier this month, foodies in Vestavia Hills may have noticed a restaurant changing its sign. Palm & Pig is now Hillside Music & Que, thanks to a slight change in ownership. What’s more, it isn’t just about food and drinks—Hillside Music & Que will showcase local musicians, offering live music for patrons to enjoy with their meals.

3. Crestwood Pickers | Crestwood
Crestwood Pickers, the long-awaited antique mall and indoor market opened on July 27th, featuring over 300 local vendors selling everything from furniture and clothing to handmade items.

5. Brother Paul’s BBQ | Alabaster
Golden Rule BBQ veteran Paul Curcio aims to provide nourishment for the mind, body, and soul with his upcoming venture, Brother Paul’s BBQ. Located inside the creACTive Wellness Center and Café in Alabaster, the BBQ place will open with a compact yet delicious menu this August.

Umami Trussville is set to welcome a classy speakeasy as its new neighbor upstairs. We’re yet to hear details about the opening, but some whispers about enclosing the patio area have been heard from the Trussville Design Review Committee.

In a saddening turn of events, Birmingham witnessed the temporary closure of the well-loved local brewery Ghost Train. A note at the brewery informed their patrons of some upcoming “exciting changes”.

8. Rickshaw Food Truck
After two years of serving delicious cuisine inspired by East Asia, the Rickshaw food truck has decided to close, according to a recent post on their Instagram page. Though Birmingham has lost a unique culinary gem, we can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
