Inclusive Citywide Campaign to Honor Local ‘Sheroes’: Nominations for Birmingham StrongHer to Conclude on August 31
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Opportunity awaits for every resident of the Magic City to showcase the inspiring women among them. Nominations for the StrongHer campaign, an initiative dedicated to honoring local ‘sheroes’, are set to close on August 31st.
‘Sheroes’ Shaping Birmingham
Launched by the City Of Birmingham, the StrongHer campaign aims to celebrate women who exhibit great strength and resilience in their daily endeavors. Living, working, volunteering, or attending schools in Birmingham, these women are recognized for their efforts driving change in the community and inspiring others with their dedication and commitment.
The chosen ‘sheroes’ will be officially announced in March 2025, to coincide with Women’s History Month celebrations, highlighting their contributions to Birmingham on the city’s social media platforms.
Nominations Invited For The StrongHer Campaign
All are invited to participate in the StrongHer initiative. To nominate a ‘shero’, the nominator must include details about the nominee such as name, contact number, and a photograph. Most importantly, they should provide information on what the nominee is doing to spark change in Birmingham.

Towards A More Inclusive Birmingham
The StrongHer campaign aims to provide a platform to recognize and honor the everyday ‘sheroes’ living amongst us in Birmingham. By bringing attention to their contributions, the initiative encourages an atmosphere of mutual respect, appreciation, and acknowledgment towards the work and efforts undertaken by women in the city.
As the deadline for nominations draws near, citizens are encouraged to put forth the names of women they believe should be honored for their strength, resilience, and commitment to the betterment of the city.
Looking Forward
After the closure of nominations, a panel will evaluate the entries and select the most deserving ‘sheroes’. The chosen women will be declared in March 2025, forming the centerpiece of the city’s Women’s History Month publicity on their social media platforms.
