Birmingham Police Department Launches Community Coat Drive to Keep Kids Warm This Winter

Birmingham’s Police Department Hosts Heartwarming Coat Drive This Holiday Season

Community Spirit Shines Bright

Hey there, Birmingham! As the temperatures begin to drop and the winter chill sets in, the Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is stepping up to spread some warmth this holiday season. That’s right! BPD has officially kicked off a community coat drive to make sure every child in the city stays cozy during those cold months ahead.

Your Help is Needed!

Running until December 20, 2024, the Coat Drive aims to collect new coats for kids ranging from ages 5 to 17. They’re specifically looking for sizes from 5T to XXL, so there’s plenty of opportunity to help out! If you’ve got a new coat that could bring a smile to a child’s face, now’s the perfect time to dig into your closet or hit the shops.

Where to Donate

Wondering where you can drop off those donations? It’s super easy! Just swing by any one of the five Birmingham Police Department locations scattered around the city. All you have to do is head to:

  • 1710 1st Ave. N., Birmingham, AL 35203

Imagine the joy that a new warm coat could bring to a child in need this winter! Each coat collected will not only help shield kids from the cold but will also remind them that the community is looking out for them.

Connect with the BPD

If you have any questions about the coat drive or need more information about donating, you can reach out directly to BPD’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) division. They can be contacted at (205) 297-8248. They’re always happy to help!

Why It Matters

As we all know, winter can be tough, especially for those who might not have the means to purchase warm clothing. By participating in this coat drive, you are doing more than just giving a coat; you’re giving a sense of hope and comfort to a child who might really need it during the chilly months ahead. Plus, it’s such a simple way to help out right in our own community!

Get Involved!

This isn’t just about throwing a coat in a box and calling it a day. It’s an opportunity to show our kids what community spirit looks like. So gather your family and friends, and get everyone buzzing about the coat drive! Spread the word on social media or in your neighborhood; let’s rally together to make this holiday season special for all of Birmingham’s youngsters.

The Countdown to Cozy Begins!

With the holiday spirit in the air, this coat drive is a beautiful reminder of how we can come together to support our youth. Birmingham has always been known for its friendly people and tight-knit community, so let’s show our true colors this winter by ensuring every child has a warm coat.

Remember, the deadline is December 20, 2024, so don’t wait too long! Let’s make Birmingham the coziest place for kids this holiday season by donating new coats. Your contributions will absolutely make a world of difference!
