From entrepreneurial conferences for innovative thinkers to cinema showcases for film buffs, blues jam sessions for music enthusiasts to computer classes to help upskill citizens, Birmingham continues to be a hub of activities catering to a diverse range of interests.
PEOPLE: Inayah takes center stage
Rising R&B singer Inayah is set to perform at Saturn in the near future. Inayah, renowned for her raw and fearless storytelling skills, has been making waves in the entertainment scene, and her performance is highly anticipated by the local community.
PLACES: A Tour of the Entertainment Scene
The Ensley Entertainment District which houses the Tuxedo Ballroom has been buzzing with the 2024 Entrepreneurs & Innovators Conference, attracting business thinkers and innovators from and around Birmingham. Sidewalk Film, living up to its reputation as a beloved local cinema establishment, hosts movie screenings every Thursday. True Story Brewing and Tha Vibe Bar & Lounge feature blues jam sessions and Hookah 114 offers an alluring Tequila Thursday. On weekends, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens provide a tranquil setting for Storytime.
THINGS: Learning Opportunities
Alongside entertainment, Birmingham is also offering learning opportunities for visitors and locals alike. The Five Points West Library is conducting computer classes twice a week. Meanwhile, the Southern Museum of Flight is hosting the Adventures in Aviation summer program for K-3rd grade students, offering daily Reading and Math lessons catering to each student’s unique needs and integrating these with fundamental concepts of aerodynamics and physics.

The BJCC Concert Hall is preparing to host The R&B Money Tour featuring Tank, Keri Hilson, and Carl Thomas, promising an entertain-packed night for R&B fans. The highly-anticipated Chris Brown – The 11:11 Tour is also set to hit the Legacy Arena in July.
In the spirit of nurturing the community’s growth, the Jefferson County Micro Business Accelerator Program initiated by the Central Alabama Redevelopment Alliance (CARA), welcomes active local Chamber of Commerce members operating businesses with 10 or fewer individuals. The program aims to accelerate the growth of these small businesses. Applications will close in late July.
