New Business Openings and Closures in Birmingham

In a fresh wave of entrepreneurial spirit and economic growth, the city of Birmingham sees six new businesses setting up shop here and one unfortunately closing its doors for now. In an effort to enrich the local scene, whether it’s through savory Indian cuisine, health-focused treats, or upscale menswear, these businesses offer something new and exciting for Birmingham’s residents and visitors.

New Openings:

1. Desi Tadka | Hoover

Craving some Indian dishes? Desi Tadka, located on Montgomery Highway, is now open and ready to satiate your palate. Offering all the Indian classics such as chicken vindaloo, pani poori and the ever-popular mango lassi, Desi Tadka promises flavorsome Indian cuisine.

2. Deliciously | Mountain Brook Village

A fresh addition to Mountain Brook, Deliciously is a new micro-market offering sweets and treats made from clean, 100% real ingredients. From live-roasted s’mores to healthier snack options, Deliciously also distinguishes itself as Birmingham’s only dedicated non-alcoholic bottle shop.

3. The Sage | Pepper Place

Heralding its arrival in Birmingham, The Sage is a new event venue in Pepper Place. Launched by the owners of MELT, The Sage presents an ideal setting for all sorts of celebrations, including weddings and showers.

4. Shoppes at District 31 | Alabaster

The Alabaster City Council recently approved the development of District 31, a shopping center coming to Alabaster. Six tenants have been confirmed so far, namely CAVA, Chipotle, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and Aspen Dental.

5. Feast Catering | Crestline

Local Chef Lindsey Noto-King in collaboration with entrepreneur Brett Ables is introducing a new brick-and-mortar catering service, Feast, to Birmingham. Scheduled to open on July 1st, Feast’s goal is to make catering more personalized and simpler for the local community.

6. Peter Millar | The Summit

Men’s luxury retailer Peter Millar is making its first appearance in Alabama at The Summit. The brand, known for its line of golf apparel to wedding attire, is set to open in the near future.

7. Moe’s Original BBQ | Lakeview

In unfortunate news, Moe’s Original BBQ in Lakeview has temporarily shut down due to a kitchen fire that occurred on June 15. No specific reopening date has been announced yet.
