Birmingham – In a tragic incident, a Birmingham man lost his life after his car crashed into a utility pole on Ensley Avenue. The fatal accident happened on Thursday evening, March 3, 2024, and the victim was identified as Kavine Anton Wheeler, aged 45. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Wheeler’s demise following the devastating single-vehicle crash.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the fatal mishap occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wheeler was driving in the 2500 block of Ensley Avenue when tragically, his vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a utility pole. The cause of the accident remains undetermined.
The local authorities promptly arrived at the scene after the accident was reported. Wheeler was found severely wounded and quickly transported to UAB Hospital for immediate medical attention. Despite the best efforts from the medical staff, Wheeler succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2024.
The Birmingham police have currently taken charge of the investigation to determine the exact cause behind the crash. As of now, no further details about the victim or potential factors contributing to the accident have been released.
