Three of Birmingham’s renowned tech figures—Matt Pierce, CEO of Immediate, Brian Alvarez-Bailey, CEO of Allison and a FinTech expert, and Terry Ray, CTO of Threat Advice—are set to come together to discuss FinTech at the highly-anticipated TECHS AND THE CITY event on June 18.
TECHS AND THE CITY, a regular platform for business owners and tech entrepreneurs, is presenting this edition of the gathering aimed at exploring computer programs and other technologies that lend support to banking and financial services. The event is set to take place at Workplay, 500 23rd St S, Birmingham, AL 35233.
Offering insights not only from tech talks but also through fun times with happy hours (at 5:30 PM) and free pizza and beer, the gathering has proved popular among Birmingham’s tech crowd, selling out fast each time.
Chase Morrow, President and Co-Founder of Deploy Alloy, credits a group of entrepreneurs and tech talent with creating TECHS AND THE CITY to foster tech growth in Birmingham. “TECHS AND THE CITY was created by a band of entrepreneurs and tech talent to create a community where everyone in the tech ecosystem can get better at what they do by sharing knowledge, resources, and opportunities,” he explained.
Past events hosted engaging discussions on artificial intelligence, investing in tech, and organising a first-of-its-kind tech battle in Birmingham.
The June event promises to delve into the world of FinTech, short for Financial Technology, with its leading experts helping businesses understand how implementing cutting-edge technology will revolutionise their financial operations.
From mobile banking to securing transactions through blockchain databases and even the hype around cryptocurrency – all fall under the umbrella of FinTech. All of these are technological advancements designed to help businesses boost their revenues, faster and more efficiently.
The FinTech topic will be unraveled through a vibrant discussion moderated by Rochell Silveira, a serial entrepreneur and startup accelerator. Besides Pierce, Alvarez-Bailey, and Ray, other leading figures and partner institutions contributing to the event’s success include Tech Birmingham, Birmingham Bound, BHM, AWS DEVOPSDAYS, BASE, Bham.NET, and B’ham Connect.
The event is set to provide an excellent opportunity for tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and curious minds to learn about the dynamic tech landscape of Birmingham. Remember to reserve your spot, if you haven’t already— and join in the tech learning and networking on June 18.
