New Businesses Revive Birmingham in the First Half of 2024

2024 has seen a notable boom in commerce for the city of Birmingham with a dazzling array of new restaurants, boutiques, and other small businesses opening their doors for the first time. With 47 new establishments setting roots in Birmingham, it’s clear that the city’s growth and development aren’t slowing down.

35 New Restaurants & Eateries in Birmingham

As a notorious foodie city, Birmingham has welcomed a plethora of new restaurants and eateries, further enriching its vibrant culinary scene. The new experiences range from the bright flavors of Umami in Trussville to the authentic Southern dining of Mama’ Nem Southern Kitchen in Rising-West Princeton, and everything in between. These new eateries have expanded Birmingham’s culinary map, offering a fresh batch of options for every palette and preference.

Apart from exciting dining choices, Birmingham also saw many retail shops open in the first half of 2024. From clever homeware goods and clothing at Tina’s Market + Goodies Toy Store in Homewood to trendy fashions at Style of the South in Chelsea, shoppers delight in exploring the fresh merchandise these new businesses have to offer. Other new shops, such as The Burrow Bookstore in Leeds and Magic City Mercantile in Avondale, have brought unique local products and curated collections to the consumers of Birmingham.

Additionally, the city saw advancements in the tech industry with the unveiling of Tech Row in Birmingham and has have had a fun addition with eight new pickleball courts on Valleydale Road that residents are quick to flock.
