These new eateries have expanded Birmingham’s culinary map, offering a fresh batch of options for every palette and preference.
Apart from exciting dining choices, Birmingham also saw many retail shops open in the first half of 2024. From clever homeware goods and clothing at Tina’s Market + Goodies Toy Store in Homewood to trendy fashions at Style of the South in Chelsea, shoppers delight in exploring the fresh merchandise these new businesses have to offer. Other new shops, such as The Burrow Bookstore in Leeds and Magic City Mercantile in Avondale, have brought unique local products and curated collections to the consumers of Birmingham.
Birmingham’s growth in 2024 goes beyond just food and retail. Innovative medical facilities, workspaces, and recreational facilities have also been founded in and around the city. Expansions in health care are apparent as UAB Medical West and Children’s of Alabama Pediatric, both in West Jefferson County, opened their doors. Additionally, the city saw advancements in the tech industry with the unveiling of Tech Row in Birmingham and has have had a fun addition with eight new pickleball courts on Valleydale Road that residents are quick to flock.
Indeed, the widespread sprouting of new businesses spanning various industries attests to the vibrant and dynamic growth happening in Birmingham. The city’s landscape has been refreshed, and the buzz of development is palpable. As the year progresses, Birmingham residents and visitors alike await to see what other new establishments will join the thriving scene.
