Birmingham Boasts Nationally Acclaimed Bar: Travel the World Through Unique Drinks

In the heart of Birmingham, a renowned drinking spot, Hop City Craft Beer and Wine, has been recognised for its extraordinary global beverage variety. This combination retail store and bar, which stocks an impressive étagère of approximately 1,200 beverages, has been honoured by USA Today as the second-best beer bar in the nation.

A Repeated Honour for Hop City

Hop City previously achieved this applause-worthy ranking in 2022. Although slipped to the 10th position last year, it has impressively climbed back to the second position for the year. This ranking process began with a gathering of beer experts by USA Today to build a list of 20 noteworthy nominees. The final Top 10 were chosen by the readers, solidifying Hop City’s prestige among beer enthusiasts as one of the top choices nationwide.

Ranking Among Giants

Despite being based in Birmingham, a city ranking 47th nationally in terms of scale, Hop City stands shoulder to shoulder with other nationally acclaimed establishments in larger metropolises, including the prestigious Monk’s Café in Philadelphia and The Brick Store Pub in the Atlanta area.

Impressively Large and Diverse Menu

With an outstanding lineup of draft, bottled and canned beers, many with a focus on local or regional selections, making a single choice at Hop City is no easy task. The bar offers a splendid rotation of over 65 beers out of their 80 taps, showcasing a mixture of popular craft brews and unique offerings from Europe and North America. The list features beers like Pipeworks Horchata Ale from Chicago, a Mexican-style beer flavoured with rice, lactose, vanilla bean, and cinnamon.

Something for Everyone

Aside from the wide variety of beers, Hop City offers a myriad of other beverages to cater to all tastes. Patrons can enjoy a selection of cocktails, wine and cider on draft or non-alcoholic offerings such as Abita root beer and Birmingham’s own Better Kombucha.

A Choice Destination for Beer Lovers

With its inviting patio and seating arrangement, Hop City also operates as a retail spot. The venue is filled with a promising selection of bottled wines and malty beverages in their retail side, with hundreds of options to choose from and an informed staff ready to guide you. This Birmingham venue at 2924 Third Avenue South is indeed a must-visit destination for any beer enthusiast.
