1. Curry Corner | English Village

First on the list is the family-run Indian restaurant, Curry Corner, inaugurated in the cozy ambiance of English Village. The restaurant’s carefully crafted menu emphasizes healthier meals, focusing on Tandoori-cooked delicacies brimming with authentic Indian spices, rather than fried options.

2. Salvatore’s Pizza & Pasta | Downtown Birmingham

With its roots stretching back to 1984, Salvatore’s Pizza & Pasta has remained a favorite among locals. Their therapeutic dough-kneading process produces pizzas and pastas that are sure to fill diners with heartwarming satisfaction. Salvatore’s new location has recently opened in downtown Birmingham, near UAB.

4. Yellowhammer Antiques | Leeds

Owned by Shane and Erica Spray, Yellowhammer Antiques is an upcoming antique and vintage mercantile featuring a diverse group of vendors specializing in furniture, clothing, locally-made goods, and more.

5. Dave’s Hot Chicken | Vestavia Hills

Craving a zest of spice? Prepare to welcome Alabama’s first Dave’s Hot Chicken, all set to introduce its Nashville-style flavor to the Vestavia City Center in Fall 2024. Originating from a humble parking lot in East Hollywood, Dave’s Hot Chicken has since become a popular fast-casual restaurant with 199 locations worldwide.

6. Guthrie’s | Vestavia Hills

Awarded 3rd place as USA Today’s 2024 Best Fast Food Fried Chicken chain in the U.S, Guthrie’s is expanding its Alabama footprint with a new restaurant at the former Hardee’s site near Vestavia Bowl on Montgomery Highway.

7. Marshalls | Highway 280

Popular retailer, Marshalls, is also readying to open its doors to customers at the River Ridge Shopping Plaza on Highway 280 this August.

8. Bin Depot | Bessemer

Bin Depot in Bessemer brings a distinctive shopping experience through a dynamic pricing model that starts at $14 on Fridays and drops to 50¢ on Thursdays. The store offers a compelling range of goods, including electronics, clothing, home goods, and toys.

9. rEVOLVEr resale | Five Points South

Known for its affordable, gender-free fashion and its role in supporting small businesses, rEVOLVEr resale in Five Points South has regrettably announced its upcoming closure. The store’s last day of operation will be August 17th, marking the end of an era while opening new avenues for the owner Sarah Rudolph’s future ventures.
